The aim of this report is to summarize and asses the physical education class at Gimnazija from students’ standpoint.
Warming up
The main thing to do before any physical exercise is to warm up. Though warming up is necessary the students believe it is too lengthy. However, it is not too complicated, so all the students can easily participate even if they are not athletic.
Team sports
Team sports are more popular than any other activity in the opinion of most students. Sports are good for the body and mind of students, as they help them get in better shape, relax and redirect their minds from the things that are causing them stress. The most practised sports at school are volleyball, football, badminton and basketball.
Running
Unfortunately, students do not think highly of this particular activity. They think it is exhausting and unnecessary. What students hate the most is Cooper Test (1600m or 2400m). According to students, it is too hard and tiring. Many agree that it is also completely unnecessary.
P.E. Professors
There is hardly anything negative to be heard about P.E. professors. Most students agree that they are amazing, except when nice weather makes them force students to run. P.E. professors are understanding and caring.
Conclusion / recommendations
Generally, physical education is an important subject liked by many students of Gimnazija Jesenice. There are a few drawbacks that should be removed. It is recommended that running should be decreased to an amount that would not terrify students of coming to class. Cooper Test should also be abolished, if possible, because it is too demanding for the majority of students. There could also be a slight reduction in warming up activities.
