This report aims to assess New year’s events in Grammar School Jesenice. The events took place on the 21st of December, in the school gymnasium, where different handmade products, cookies, old clothes and fashion accessories were sold. It was followed by an hour-long concert.
New Year’s Bazaar:
The bazaar opened twice: first in the morning from 9 to 11 am for the students and teachers and the second time in the evening for all the visitors who decided to attend the concert. The crowded stalls offered candles, 2023 calendars, Christmas and New year’s cards, iridescent knitted ornaments and various scented soaps for sale. The prices varied from 0,5 euros to 10 euros.
Gimjes Wardrobe:
Students brought their used clothes that did not fit them anymore, and fashion accessories for others to buy at affordable prices. Seeing how many students no longer need their old clothes was quite impressive. Luckily, Gimjes Wardrobe was situated in the same room and started at the same time as the bazaar, so more people could visit both events.
Concert:
At 6:30 pm the gymnasium, where the concert took place, started to fill up with audience. Musical and vocal performances followed one after another. Some students played the guitar, others the piano, accordion, flute or saxophone, and were accompanied by the school women’s choir. To everyone’s surprise, even the teachers’ choir joined in later. All the performers did a fantastic job creating a festive atmosphere at the concert, which was followed by a modest banquet.
Conclusion:
To sum up, all events were a success. I think days like this help create a festive atmosphere at school. However, it would be recommended, cheaper products are offered for sale at the bazaar.
